In the automotive industry, innovations and upgrades are constant. For a car to stay on top of its class, it has to be one step ahead of its competitors. The Aura is a mid-size sedan which shares the same platform used by other GM cars. Other General Motors models which use the same platform as the Aura are the Chevrolet Malibu Maxx and the Pontiac G6. The fact that the Aura shares its platform with these cars only gives the car a solid reputation for having a frame that is tough and of high quality.
What drives the Aura is a 3.6-liter double overhead cam V6 engine. The overall design of the Aura complements the engine which allows the engine to achieve its true potential. The power from the V6 engine gives the Aura a respectable acceleration and top speed. While the car’s big engine may seem like a noisy one, it is actually quiet during normal operation. The engine’s sound only comes to the driver’s attention during acceleration when the engine releases its power. The powerful V6 engine is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual mode. The power is transferred to the car’s front wheels.
When it comes to the handling performance of the Aura, it can handle itself quite remarkably on any surface. The car’s steering system is responsive enough to make it one of the best in its class when it comes to handling. It can handle winding roads with ease and the car rides smoothly over most normal road surfaces. The efficiency of the car’s suspension and steering systems combine to give driver and passengers a comfortable ride. The design of the said system also makes the car less prone to rollover thus increasing the safety of the car’s occupants.
The Aura also boasts of technologically advanced features like the remote start feature. It comes in handy during cold weather. With this feature, the user can remotely start the vehicle and wait for it to warm up until the driver is ready to board and drive. The interior of the car is also given much attention. This is evident on the driver-friendly dashboard. Two easily readable large gauges and two equally visible smaller gauges consists the Aura’s instrument panel. The white-on-black letters and numbers on the display make reading the information convenient for the driver. The letters and numbers even look good at night which makes the Aura’s instrument panel a cut above its competition which uses video displays.
With the combined performance and good looks of the car, it will definitely be a serious contender in the mid-size sedan segment. The cool feature, handling and ride stability also makes the car standout. Add to that the V6 engine that is complemented by the overall design of the Aura and you have a sedan that will in time make a mark in the automotive industry.
